John is the oldest of four sons of Arie and Cheever Meaders. Although his younger brother Lanier is probably the most famous, John is a great folk pottery in his own right. John has perfected the art of grape decorated pieces ranging from vases to pitchers to bowls. John’s single and double-headed chicken planters and face jugs are also highly collectable and sought after items.
John recently passed away on March 12, 1999 after a brief illness. Folk pottery has lost another brother.
