Edwin is the youngest son of Arie and Cheever Meaders.  About 1980 he returned to pottery making full time.  Influenced by his mother's roosters, Edwin evolved his own style of rooster.

Although Edwin Meaders has made a wide variety of pottery items over the years, his name is synonymous with roosters, whether they be the earlier green or more recent cobalt blue.  Edwin’s roosters are a required addition to any Southern folk pottery collection.
